Kvaser LabView LIN VIs

The Kvaser LabView LIN VIs implement the LabView interface to the Kvaser LIN runtime library. These VIs provide the same functionality as is present in the library. The VIs are all named kvLinXXX, where "XXX" is the name of a LIN library function.

Requirements

The VIs require the CANLIB SDK. They use functions defined in the LINlib DLL (linlib.dll), which must be present in the execution path for the VIs to run. The execution path is the current working directory, a directory specified in the PATH environment variable, or the standard Windows System32 directory. The CANLIB SDK install does not place the linlib.dll into the path automatically. You will need to manually modify the path or place the dll in your VI working directory. You will find the dll in the following CANlib SDK install directory:

     \Program Files (x86)\Kvaser\CANlib\bin\ 

Installation

1. Install LabView
2. Install the Kvaser CANLIB SDK.
3. Install the Kvaser LabView LIN VIs in any directory.
4. Place linlib.dll in the execution path.

Usage

1. The VIs are used like any LabView VI. They may be installed in any directory.
2. Read the CANLIB SDK documentation, which lists the available functions and provides examples of their usage.
3. Open the kvLinTree.vi. It contains additional details on the VIs and their usage.
4. Look at the kvLinTree.vi diagram for a list of all VIs.
5. Look at the lin***Sample.vi's to simple examples of how the VIs work together.
